HR Generalist



The Human Resources Supervisor 2 is responsible for supervising staff and managing, coordinating and/or evaluating HR services, policies, and programs for the Department of Urology. Specific areas of responsibility include Staffing and Recruitment, Employee/Labor Relations, Personnel Administration, Leave Coordination, Benefits, HR Compliance, and Payroll Management. The HR Supervisor 2 serves as a consultant and point of expertise to supervisors and department leadership on human resources issues. You will be responsible for assessing and anticipates HR-related needs and communicates proactively with department leadership and central HR. Pay Range: $86,900 - $197,900 annually.


* 4-6 years Subject matter expertise for area(s) of greatest % responsibility. * 4-6 years Microsoft Office * 1-3 years Management or Supervisory responsibility * Demonstrated knowledge of UC personnel policies (PPSM), bargaining union contracts, and procedures and practices that govern HR administration. * Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve organizational issues. * Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs. * Demonstrated knowledge of human resources concepts, employment practices, * employee/labor relations, salary administration, recruitment, training, and other areas of human resources. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects within specified deadlines. * Skilled in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality. * Skilled in meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions. * Skilled in composing business, personnel and / or payroll correspondence. * Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students. * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with department staff, managers, and colleagues. * Demonstrated knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels. * Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, evaluate, and recruit staff.
