Description
Mycorrhiza Biotech specializes in the application of mycorrhizal biotechnology for the improvement of agriculture.
While we specialize in truffle detection, analysis, and propagation, we are a full-service laboratory and provide a range of services in bioremediation and design of custom assays in the fields of environmental engineering as well as characterization of fungi in pure culture.
The intern will work as a field and lab assistant - collecting samples and working them through all processes of soil characterization to determine the suitability of plots for truffle production; a greenhouse assistant - monitoring and applying protocols for mycorrhized seedling production. All duties and tasks will align with the application of scientific practices to support truffle orchards

This internship is funded through the Industrial Internship Program at the North Carolina Biotechnology Program, which is designed to provide real-world work experience, which helps students transition to careers in North Carolina's growing life sciences sector.
Requirements
Graduate students in Horticulture, Agricultural biotechnology or Agribusiness. Strong oral and written communication skills. Solid research skills. Organized. Curious. Must be willing to travel within the US (Company sponsored).
This is a summer internship. Specific dates can be flexible based on company and intern needs.
